This art of body painting is done with the use of sharp cone of mehndi or henna, as the designs are shape lined, extremely fine lines. It uses very tiny and different types of leaves, flowers, the curve that act like the branches of trees are enhancing this unique art form. A lot of times, designers also draw shapes of stars and moons which are quite popular in Iran. And, unlike other types of henna designs, Persian designs don’t cover the entire hand and is not as fine as others.
Henna in Persia has had such an enormous impact on its culture that there are poets like Said Naficy and Sa’di who have written great words about it. However, in India, Persian mehndi designs are not popular as other mehndi types like Arabic and African.
